Coronavirus | Advice For Customers

With the Coronavirus (COVID-19) being a topic of concern across the globe, Green Motion International have put together some guidance about international travel, along with an overview of the current situation.

Included within this article are all of the precautionary measures that have been implemented across all Green Motion rental stations as well as our advice regarding hiring a vehicle during this period.

Can I travel abroad?

Travel into and from areas of China, South Korea and Northern Italy are currently restricted due to the virus, with expectations that further country borders may be closed. However, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) have not yet advised against travel into any other country.

Despite this, there have been several disruptions to air travel including British Airways and Ryanair announcing the reduction and cancellation of hundreds of flights throughout March. To check whether your travel plans are affected, please refer to the website of the airline that you booked with for updates.

Can I still hire with Green Motion?

Yes! It is being suggested that people should avoid using public transport when unnecessary to stop the spread of the virus, this offers shared or individual car hire as the ideal and much safer alternative.

All of our vehicles are valeted at the beginning and end of each rental and are being disinfected as an addition to this process. You can see what other precautions we have taken below.

What are Green Motion doing to combat the Coronavirus?

To combat public concern as well as to stop the spread, Green Motion International have implemented several new procedures within rental stations to help keep our customers and staff safe, whilst maintaining the usual high standards of service.

  • All Green Motion staff will be subject to refresher training regarding personal hygiene as well as how to effectively sanitise the offices and rental vehicles for public use.
  • All rental stations will now be introducing sanitisation zones around each of our rental stations for staff and customer use
  • Those in charge of each rental station have been advised of all correct procedures regarding suspected cases of Coronavirus and have also been advised to regularly review the updated regulations around the Virus from their country’s government.
