Green Motion awarded the Green World Award 2023
What a win!
Temperature data collected for 2016 clearly shows that it was the world’s warmest year, edging ahead of 2015.
Data gathered from NASA and the Met Office shows that temperatures were 0.07 degrees Celsius above 2015.
Although the increase stated by the Met Office was within the margin of error, NASA said that 2016 was the 3rd year in a row to break the record.
Scientists have said that the El Nino weather did play a role, however the main factor was human CO2 emissions.
Professor Mark Maslin from the University College London stated that climate change is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down.
Researchers say that 2017 is not likely to break the warming record however it will still probably be in the top 5 of the hottest years.
