A power cut at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport yesterday has led to a partial shut-down

A power cut at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport yesterday has led to a partial shut-down.

The shut-down has affected tens of thousands of people, with passengers being left in darkened terminals or on-board planes.

Power has now been restored but there has been more than 1,000 flight cancellations.

It is believed that the power cut was caused by a fire at an underground electrical facility with a piece of its switchgear failed, sparking the fire which caused the cable damage.

If you have been affected by the power cut at Atlanta's international airport, please remember to contact you car rental agent such as Green Motion or please contact Green Motion car hire directly at greenmotion.com or +44 (0) 2071864000.
