Amazon has partnered with the car manufacturer, Fiat Chrysler, in order to sell cars online for the first time.
Fiat Chrysler will sell 3 of their models on Amazon’s Italian site, the 500, the 500L and on the Panda with the vehicles being sold for around 30% cheaper than dealerships.
The process will connect buyers to a dealer once they’ve purchased the car online, finalising the purchase with the dealer and picking the vehicle up within 2 weeks of making the initial purchase.
It’s still not clear if Amazon will be holding inventory or if it will be serving merely as a middleman for Fiat.
While this service is only set to tailor to the Italian market, some investors believe that it won’t be too long before Amazon begins selling cars on its US website.
