Green Motion awarded the Green World Award 2023
What a win!
The Netherlands-based supermarket Ekoplaza announced last week that it has opened an aisle with more than 700 plastic-free products in an Amsterdam store, with plans to open plastic-free aisles at all of its 74 locations.
Sian Sutherland, co-founder of campaign group A Plastic Planet said, “For decades shoppers have been sold the lie that we can’t live without plastic in food and drink. A plastic-free aisle dispels all that. Finally, we can see a future where the public have a choice about whether to buy plastic or plastic-free. Right now we have no choice.”
Ekoplaza chief executive Erik Does said, “Plastic-free aisles are a really innovative way of testing the compostable biomaterials that offer a more environmentally friendly alternative to plastic packaging.”
Crucially, the plastic-free items will not be any more expensive than those wrapped with plastic but they will still incorporate biodegradable materials at every opportunity.
At Green Motion, our ethos is to provide environmentally friendlier vehicles at competitive prices – greener car hire does not have to be more expensive. Just like Ekoplaza, Green Motion aim to help our customers to make small changes to their lifestyles which benefit the environment, at no extra cost to themselves.
