CEO of Green Motion comments on the ending of Hertz Rent A Car Partnership with low cost airline Ryanair

Today, the news suddenly broke that the global rental car company Hertz has abruptly ended its partnership with the Irish low cost airline Ryanair.

While the reasons for their cessation of their cooperation has not been disclosed, it is understood that there is a number of long standing disputes that form part of the agreement that remain unresolved.

Currently, it is unknown how this will affect Ryanair car rental customers especially taking into account that it is now peak season at many of Ryanairs destinations.

The group CEO of Green Motion, Richard Lowden, said, "It is very difficult when such strategic agreements as the one with Hertz and Ryanair fail with no notice. Typically, it is the customer that is the victim of the fallout. With the market continuing to be highly competitive, the cost of supporting alliances with major airlines becomes increasingly difficult with discussions on revenue share and margin somewhat fraught."

Richard Lowden refused to confirm whether or not Green Motion had entered into discussions with Ryanair with regards to a car hire partnership.

Green Motion currently operates in 19 countries, many of which support Ryanair destinations. For further information on hiring a car with Green Motion please visit www.greenmotion.com or call +44 333 888 4000.
