A study compiled by the online travel company, eDreams Odigeo, found that destinations including Cuba, Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia will be among the top destinations in 2017.

Turin in Italy is also tipped to be a top destination, with bookings up by over 300%.

Reasons for why people are choosing these destinations may be found in their accessibility, not only in terms of increased flight routes but also in visa restrictions. For instance Kazakhstan has recently expanded its via-free entry rules and Havana in Cuba has now lifted restrictions on US travel.

Britons appear to be the biggest travellers in Europe, with more than half taking 3 or more trips a year.

The findings claim that customers in 2017 are now looking not only for the best value destinations but also for ease of travel.
