In a bid to improve air quality, a Polish firm has laid a sidewalk in Warsaw with slabs using a special type of concrete that reduces pollutants from car fumes. This concrete sucks pollution straight out of the air, converting nitrogen dioxide (NO2) molecules into salt that can be washed away in the rain.
