17Emirates have reported a drop in their annual profit

The Middle East’s largest airline, Emirates, has reported a drop in their annual profit for the first time in 5 years.

The airline has criticised the US’s President, Donald Trump, for his restrictions on some US flights, as well as Britain’s vote to leave the EU, claiming they are destabilising for travel.

Add to this that airlines around the globe have reported pressure on fares over the last few years because of competition and demand, although several of Europe’s major carries have observed that the pressure may be waning.

Emirate's chairman has said that the company has a challenging year ahead of them.
