Ford’s first EV long-range car is due to arrive by 2020 and will boast of an affordable price tag. However, it is going to have some very serious competition.

Ford first announced that they were planning to launch a long-range electric vehicle in January and although the company has not revealed exactly how much their vehicle will cost, they have said that it will be priced for the masses.

Their aim is to manufacture an affordable mainstream vehicle.

However, Ford isn’t the only company rolling out an EV SUV in this time-frame, as Tesla are planning on launching the Model Y in late 2019 / early 2020 and VW and Volvo are also aiming to roll out smaller electric SUV’s within the same time-frame.

Regardless, Ford believes that they have an edge in the industry, mostly due to the battery range their SUV will offer which is at least 300 miles.
