Jaguar unveiled their first ever fully electric vehicle – the I-Pace concept – at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The vehicle will be officially launched next year and on the road in 2018.
The I-Pace will be marketed in the electric executive SUV market with competitors like Tesla. It’s 2018 delivery coincides with the introduction of the ultra low emissions zone in London and other UK cities.
The I-Pace is a pure electric mirror version of the F-Pace 5 door, 5 seater SUV which was launched earlier this year.
The I-pace will have 400PS and 700Nm torque, accelerating to 60 mph in just 4 seconds with a range of up to 310 miles and a 90kWh battery.
Much like the Tesla, the battery module is inserted in the floor, feeding both electric motors on the front and rear axles for a 4 wheel drive.
