Plan your staycation in Poland

One of the best places in Poland to visit, the capital had 85% of its building destroyed after WWII, and replaced them with replica baroque and renaissance merchant houses that you can still see today. If you are looking for a day of discovery, you can visit the world’s only Museum of Posters, the Neon Museum, Museum of Caricature and Royal Łazienki Park and Museum. If that builds up an appetite, we recommend sampling some local farinaceous dishes containing various kinds of pancakes such as crêpes, grated-potato dumplings, plain and plum-filled mashed-potato dumplings and the well-loved pierogi – carb heaven!

There is so much to see in Rzeszów, you could easily spend a day walking round this beautiful city. Go for a walk along the Avenue under the Chestnuts, which passes along the Lubomirsky Summer Palace and the castle’s moat. Not far from here is the Multimedia fountain, which puts on shows with lighting, lasers, smoke and images displayed in the water. We recommend visiting in the early evening and then heading out for some dinner, and whether you want local cuisine or something more international Rzeszów has something for everyone.

Wroclaw is another great place to visit for some history and culture in the local museums. The Lumbomirsky Museum is a great place to start to learn more about the city, and the Wroclaw City Museum looks back over the past 1000 years. You must also visit the Main Market Square whilst you’re there, and go and see the Old Town Hall and Elizabeth’s Church. In the warmer months the city runs open top bus tours, or if you prefer travelling by foot you can search for the Wroclaw dwarfs – there are over 350 hidden in the city!
