With a No-Deal Brexit looking like a real possibility, let's look at what that could mean for travel. Even in the event of this happening, current information from the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), states that travel will be protected by contingency legislation or international law. Both the UK Government and European Commission are in agreement that it is vital that travel links are protected, so there are no plans to stop flights to and from the UK even if no deal is reached.

Now that we know that we can catch a flight to the EU, what are we going to need to get in? The first thing we need to look at is our passport. The UK Government recommends that you have at least 6 months left on your passport from the date of your arrival in the EU. However, if you renewed your 10-year adult passport before it expired, extra months may have been added to your new passport. We would advise that you check out the GOV.UK website, as they have created this handy tool to help you check. If you do need to renew your passport we recommend that you do this sooner rather than later to ensure that you have it in time for your travel plans. This can be done online or at your local post office.

We have our passports ready to go, what next? It has already been confirmed that you will not need a visa for short-term business and leisure trips. However, if we don't reach a deal by the 31st October, any European Health Insurance Cards issued by the UK will no longer be valid. This means that it is strongly advised that you make sure you are covered by a Travel Insurance policy before travelling.
