Green Motion awarded the Green World Award 2023
What a win!
The UK music tourism industry hit a record high in 2016, but there are now fears that this incline will be stopped in its tracks by Brexit. Over 30.9 million people attended music festivals last year, which was a 12% increase and generated £4 billion in direct and indirect spending. There was 823,000 tourists who made the journey to the UK from all over the world to come and see their favourite artists perform in festivals from Glastonbury to Latitude in Suffolk.
However, success in the big arenas and festivals has put small venues in jeopardy as they struggle to compete. UK Music has vowed to campaign to safeguard these businesses and is pushing the Government to make sure the impact of Brexit does not damage our export trade or make it harder for UK artists to tour abroad and for overseas acts to come here. Groups and Artists who tour are already concerned about the possibility that they will have to apply for visas and expensive documentation to transport their equipment across boarders.
If you are planning to travel to one of the UK's incredible music events, why not book an environmentally friendly vehicle from any of our Green Motion UK locations for a stress-free rental experience.
