Green Motion awarded the Green World Award 2023
What a win!
Significant emission reductions are required if we are going to be able to achieve one of the key goals of the Paris Agreement, which was to limit the increase of global average temperatures to 1.5C.
A collaboration involving the University of Exeter, University College of London and the University of Oxford have investigated the geophysical likelihood of limiting global warming to well below 2C. Their study has found that the goals will take much more ambitious emission reductions than those which have been pledged by the world’s nations thus far.
The research concluded that countries need to stop their usage of coal and strengthen their existing targets if they have any hope of achieving the goal. The sooner that global emission begin to fall, the lower the risk will be not only of climatic disruption but also of economic disruption.
