Southern California has erupted in a ‘super bloom’ of wildflowers.

The beautiful phenomenon has come after years of severe drought in California. The state was under a drought state of emergency since 2014, with the governor only lifting the order earlier this month.

A bloom, on this scale, has not been seen in over a lifetime. Even from space, the colour is visible.

The flowers will last until the end of the month.
