We are regularly asked what makes us a green company, so we thought we would share with you the Green Motion Sustainability System. This is designed to offer our customers the opportunity to rent vehicles with the lowest environmental impact and the most resource efficient car rental service in the market. This includes tracking the resources that we put and take from it, both in terms of our environmental impact prior, during and after the rental.

Our UK network proudly achieved their Carbon Neutral status recently, making us the only rental firm in the UK to accomplish this. Throughout the world, our rental stations champion fleets that have low CO2 emissions and high fuel efficiency, including electric and hybrid vehicles where the local infrastructure can support them. We have committed to offsetting the emissions of our vehicles through donations to our Green Heart initiative, which supports the ‘Environmental Services Payment’ (PSA) programme through FONAFIFO.

However, our green policies go much further than just the emissions of our fleet. We use sustainable materials and products when fitting our rental stations, including recycled tyres and timber for the flooring where possible. Our locations are also fitted with low-energy lights and passive sensors to automatically turn on and off lights, further reducing energy use when particular areas are not occupied. When it comes to powering our rental stations, we work with sustainable energy providers (utilising micro wind turbines or solar cell technologies).

We have faced the challenge of eco-friendly vehicle valeting by using environmentally friendly and bio-degradable chemicals. Water conservation is also a top priority for us, which is why we use steam cleaning, water capture & recycling and even waterless cleaning processes.

When in our rental stations, you will find that they are fitted with recycling zones, promoting recycling best practices. Green Motion Greece have even installed battery recycling points. Even our stationary is all made out of recycled and sustainable materials.
