Green Motion awarded the Green World Award 2023
What a win!
The Paris Climate Summit (COP21) is aiming to conclude their global agreement to combat the effects of global warming on Saturday (12/11/2015), a day later than the original itinerary.
The French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius who is chairing the summit, is confident that the discussions and decisions being made are moving in the right direction.
Those involved in the UN conference - over 190 countries are participating - have been steadily working on a new draft agreement since Wednesday. The agreement, once agreed, is designed to come into place in 2020.
The latest draft which was presented on Thursday targeted issues such as donating money to vulnerable countries for clean energy, setting the global temperature target at 1.5C and promises to help reduce emissions; however many countries participating are still not convinced and are calling for more compromise, especially in reference to climate finances.
Green Motion Car Hire, along with many other environmentally conscious individuals and companies, are looking forward to seeing what changes will come into place with the unveiling of the final agreement.
Global CO2 emissions and their effect on the environment, especially in reference to car hire, are of great concern to Green Motion. This conviction led Richard Lowden, Green Motion’s founder and CEO, to create the car rental company which has been based upon a 100% environmental ethos. Not only are our rental vehicles either low or zero emission, our locations also adhere to strict guidelines which affect their use of water consumption, waste management and the deployment of materials across the business platform which are eco-friendly.
