The second generation Nissan Leaf is due to be announced on the 6th of September

Nissan’s Leaf is, by far, the highest-volume fully electric car ever sold with total sales passing 250,000 units.

Launched originally in 2011, the Leaf received several small updates in 2013 and then in 2016 its battery capability was upgraded – going from 84 to 107 miles. That aside, the Leaf has for the most part stayed the same for the last 7 years.

But, the second generation Leaf model is due to be announced on Wednesday the 6th of September.

Not a whole lot is known about the 2018 model with many speculations in terms of its design and battery retention, however Nissan have announced that the new model will have an e-Pedal.

What’s an e-Pedal, you may be wondering. According to Nissan, with a flip of a switch you can turn the accelerator into an e-Pedal and accelerate, decelerate and stop – just by using this pedal. It even works on hills.
