A strike planned today and Christmas Eve by airport baggage handlers and check-in staff for Swissport has been cancelled.

More than 1,500 members of the Unite union had been due to walk out for 2 days over a row about pay and working conditions.

The strike has now been called off followed meetings with Acas, a conciliation service however there is no guarantee that the union will change their mind and plan another strike.

Separately, British Airways cabin crew at London Heathrow Airport are still planning to strike on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
