Top Sustainability Award for Green Motion

Green Motion has achieved a Bronze Award from Green Tourism, the largest and most established sustainable certification programme in the world.

A Green Tourism Award means that a business works responsibly, ethically and sustainably, contributes to their community, is reducing their impact on the environment and aims to be accessible and inclusive to all customers and staff.

To achieve accreditation, Green Motion's International head office was graded on-site by a qualified Assessor against a rigorous set of criteria, covering a range of areas such as energy and water efficiency, waste management, biodiversity and social involvement and communication. Green Motion has been particularly keen to improve recycling processes so this area was scored particularly well by the Assessor.

Green Motion CEO & Founder Richard Lowden said, "Green Motion has always worked hard to reduce the impact of our business on the environment we are delighted that our efforts have been recognised on our first assessment by Green Tourism."

Green Tourism Assessor Lisa Wilson said: "Green Motion International have done a excellent job at achieving a Bronze Green Tourism award following on from their first Green Check call. There are many good practices in place from their recycling policy and systems to the use of environmentally friendly cleaning products, hand soap and supplying fair trade, organic tea and coffee. The head office fleet of vehicles are all low carbon, hybrids or electric cars. All Green Motion customers are encouraged to offset their travel carbon with their Green Heart initiative. This is just the beginning of the journey and I am sure Green Motion will continue to increase their score and have the potential to achieve Silver very quickly."
