These new restrictions will be enforced as of midnight tomorrow (Friday 13th March 2020) but will not affect US or UK citizens and does not apply to cargo travelling to and from America.

As the virus toll rises to 1,135 confirmed cases, with 38 deaths so far, Trump decided that as well as travel restrictions he would send troops into the areas of New Rochelle near New York City where the outbreak is thought to have originated. His plans for drastic action have pleased many Americans whilst other Governments still seem undecided about their best cause of action. Donald Trump has since said that the European Union had "failed to take the same precautions" as the US in fighting the virus.
