Earlier this week, Uber announced that they are expanding their Advanced Technology Group outside the US with the opening of a new research center in Toronto, Canada.
ATG’s group oversees all aspects relating to self-driving vehicles and the new center in Toronto will focus on developing the artificial intelligence required to create autonomous cars.
The expansion comes at a time when Uber is facing legal challenges from its rival, Waymo, Googles autonomous car company. Waymo sued Uber in February on accusations of intellectual property theft and patent infringement.
