Uber is expanding their self-driving pilot in San Francisco

Uber will be expanding their pilot self-driving cars by employing a fleet of converted Volvo XC90 SUVs.

The move has marked a strengthening alliance between Uber and Volvo after the 2 companies signed an agreement oin August 2016) to form a jointly owned project in developing autonomous driverless cars.

These newer cars will be employed throughout San Francisco (California, USA) with the promise of self-driving ride-sharing finally becoming a reality.

Volvo will also begin a project in January 2017 called Drive Me which will be the world’s largest autonomous driving test with members of the public given self-driving cars to be driven on roads in Gothenburg, Sweden.
