Weather warnings were issued yesterday as a powerful winter storm moved to San Diego.

The short storm, which began yesterday evening, is due to last until today.

Strong winds were felt to the US-Mexican border, with the potential for flooding in several areas.

Flooded areas in San Diego to avoid include:

• The 2700 block of Hollister
• Avalon Court at Mission Blvd
• Kingston Court at Mission Blvd
• The 5600 block of Kemper Street
• Dawes Street at Pacific Beach Dr.
• Avenida Del Rio at Fashion Valley Mall

El Camino Real has been closed between Sun Valley Road and Rancho Del Madison due to a tree blocking both lanes.
