For those navigating Italy's roads for the first time, take a moment to get acquainted with the vehicle, understand Italy's traffic regulations, and plan your routes.
In Italy, driving is on the right-hand side. A valid driving license from your home country is required, and depending on your country of origin, you may also need an International Driving Permit (IDP).
The speed limits in Italy are generally 50 km/h in urban areas, 90 km/h on secondary roads, and 130 km/h on highways, subject to change based on road conditions and signage.
Be aware that local driving can be aggressive, and traffic rules might not always be strictly followed. Watch out for pedestrians, cyclists, and animals on the road, especially in rural areas.
When visiting historic city centers, it's recommended to park outside the restricted zones (ZTL) and explore by walking. Elsewhere, driving and parking is generally straightforward.
Fuel stations are readily available in the city and along major highways, but it's wise to monitor your fuel level when traveling to more remote areas of the country.

I have only the best things to say about Green Motion Pisa. The staff is beyond friendly, helpful, understanding for tricky circumstances, fair and honest. I rented from them for over a month, having to come back weekly to resign paperwork (because I set up weekly rentals) and they always greeted me like family upon my return. The cars are in excellent condition so you don’t have to worry about safety or comfort and they always do what they can to accommodate your requests. So impressed!!!

Great experience using Green Motion in Palermo. Super friendly staff and the GM Fabio were all very helpful. We rented one of their SUVs and everything was easy and smooth. Their price was the most reasonable. We would definitely recommend Green Motion Palermo.

Loved the agency, smooth check in and check out of the car. We had Citroen in a new condition, full tank. But the most important is customer service: since we were arriving out of the office hours, Green Motion contacted us via what’s up, offering pick up car at the airport port parking We also were managed no make the payment via messaging and charge for the deposit. Similar experience was when we were returning the car. So smooth and remarkable service. Highly recommended car rental!

No problems at all and they now have a presence in the nearby building along with all the other car rental people on the Liberty desk. We had to bring our car back early as our flight home was cancelled and were at Pisa Airport before they opened. Process was really easy though and there is a drop off box just inside the main doors of the car rental building where you can safely leave the keys in the clearly marked one of whichever company you are with. Many others were doing the same thing and it's then an easy walk to the airport although I did spot the shuttle running even that early! Highly recommend.
