Richard Lowden, CEO of Green Motion International has received an outstanding achievement award at this year’s GreenFleet Awards in recognition of his personal contribution to lowering carbon emissions in the vehicle rental industry.
The Green Fleet Awards celebrate individuals and businesses that strive to make a difference in lowering their carbon impact within the fleet sector. Richard received the prestigious award following a ten-year commitment to increase uptake in electric and hybrid vehicles to reduce pollution levels.
Richard’s pioneering work led to the launch of the first and only environmentally friendly vehicle rental company in 2007. Ten years on, Green Motion now operates in 30 countries around the world and has 19 branches in the UK.
"It is an incredible honour to have received the outstanding achievement award. However, it is important to note that this accolade really belongs to the entire team here at Green Motion who work hard to ensure we provide a great service while staying true to our environmentally-conscious principles," comments Richard.
"Receiving the award is a tremendous celebration of our ten-year milestone, but our journey continues with a focus on further expansion and development for 2018.”
Thanks to Richard’s efforts, our network has steadily developed over the last ten years and ongoing investment in the latest electric, plug-in and hybrid vehicles ensures that our fleet has the lowest CO2 emissions of any of our like-for-like competitors.
To mark the company’s ten year anniversary, Green Motion took further environmental strides by implementing a carbon offsetting programme, helping them to become the first carbon neutral rental company in the UK.
